Behind the Scenes: The Black Polish Society’s First Photoshoot

A Big Day for The Society

Today is a big day for The Black Polish Society. Today we are rendeavoing at The Breathing Room Wellness Center in Peru, Indiana to shoot our first photoshoot. There are approximately 30 people who have made arrangements to be there to shop, model, have their hair done, take body measurements, and have photos and videos taken.

I am excited, nervous, happy, worried, and forward-thinking. BPS is still relatively young, yet it has already garnered a tremendous amount of support. I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. It's humbling to think that less than 120 days ago, I announced this project would go live on October 1st, 2025.

Today is November 23rd, 2025, and I'm on my way to meet with all of those beautiful people who have helped make this dream a reality.

Women Showing Up for Each Other

While I'm not 100% sure what today will bring in totality, I don't doubt the following will happen:

Women will come together in kinship. Those women will witness each other step out of their comfort zones and be photographed and videotaped for the entire internet to see. I know some of the models are a little nervous, and I'm sure some of them are VERY nervous. However, every single one of these women is doing this so that another person can shop with more confidence.

Our current mockups are generated using AI models that lack the "roughness," "bumps," and "edges" typically found in real people. These women have bravely decided to be vulnerable and put aside their insecurities so that another can determine if the Sthira Yoga Collective line will fit their bodies the way they want them to.

Of the People, For the People

I am inspired and humbled to know so many strong, brave individuals. One of the slogans for BPS is "Of the People, for the People." Today, that slogan becomes an action, not just a banner on a website.
